1. What is your history?
Everyone has to start somewhere, but we doubt if you want to be a construction company’s very first project. Instead, try to find a company that has an established legacy and a good track record of getting the job done right. You’ll be listening to multiple sales pitches, but customer reviews and past work often tell you much more than a sales pitch. Also, be sure that the company you’re considering has a history of completing the type of project you need done. If they only do one type of construction, they might not be able to successfully handle your project.
2. Can you show previous work?
Along with checking into a company’s background, you’ll also want to see examples of their previous work. Ask to see before and after pictures, or if possible, visit a building they’ve worked on. We also recommend asking if they have had any repeat customers. It’s definitely a good sign if customers are so satisfied with their work that they come back for more!
3. What is your safety record?
Finally, before hiring a company, you need to know that they have a good safety record. Companies that keep good safety records and address any problems that arise should be happy to provide such evidence. On the other hand, it would be a red flag if a company was unwilling to show safety records, as they may be trying to hide something. A company that cannot keep their workers safe are likely cutting other corners as well.
